ABOUT MARIE
Marie Izquierdo is an innovative educator with over 30 years of experience in school reform. She led the South Florida School Turnaround team in the Florida Department of Education Bureau of School Improvement and as the Chief Strategy Officer in Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), shepherding its 2021-2026 Strategic Plan. She served as CAO of the nation's third largest school district, leading efforts that yielded a then-historic 84% graduation rate, and successfully eradicated all F schools in the district. 99% of schools in M-DCPS were rated A, B, or C during her tenure.
She is an alumna of the prestigious Broad Academy, a Future Chief for Change, and in 2019, she was honored with the Women in Leadership Award from the American Association of School Administrators.
